Taliaferro Wins Election, then Contest
Congratulations to Adam Taliaferro (@Tali43) for winning the Ron Jaworski Celebrity Golf Challenge Twitter contest.
"That's great," Taliaferro wrote in a direct message to @JawsGolf, "some exciting news!"
Taliaferro, who wins two tickets to the Pairings Party, was surprised because he's also a celebrity for this year's tournament. The former Penn State defensive back is looking forward to both the Harrah's Pool Party and the tournament (May 20 & 21).
Taliaferro, who helped promote the contest, was randomly selected out of 38 entries and also receives a Nike gift package.
It's been a great couple of days for the Voorhees Township, NJ native, who recently was voted to the Penn State Board of Trustees.
"It's really humbling, I'm just so thankful," said Taliaferro about the election in a recent interview. "So many people put their faith in me, their support. I'm truly honored to be chosen."
Taliaferro, who was paralyzed while playing for the Nittany Lions, not only recovered to walk, but is also a lawyer and motivational speaker.
He joins Jason McMeekin (@jasonmcmeekin), who was selected in 2011, as contest winners.
